Health and Safety Compliance

Health and safety compliance is meeting the legal duties that apply to workplace risks, controls, training and records. Requirements depend on the work, location and people affected.

Example

An employer checks whether equipment inspections, risk assessments and required worker training are current and records actions to correct identified gaps.

What to keep in mind

A completed checklist does not establish that a workplace is safe. Verify that controls work in practice, involve workers and respond when conditions, equipment or activities change.
