Workplace Safety

Workplace safety is the prevention and control of hazards that could harm people during work. It includes safe systems, suitable equipment, training and ways to report and respond to risks.

Example

A warehouse separates pedestrian routes from vehicle traffic, trains operators and checks whether the controls remain effective during busy periods.

What to keep in mind

Safety is not established by an absence of reported injuries. Identify hazards proactively, investigate near misses and ensure workers can report concerns without pressure to keep incident figures low.
