Learning ROI

Learning ROI compares the estimated financial benefit attributable to a learning intervention with its total cost. It is commonly expressed as net benefit divided by cost, multiplied by 100.

Example

If attributable benefits are estimated at ₹150,000 and the programme costs ₹100,000, the estimated ROI is (150,000 minus 100,000) divided by 100,000, or 50%.

What to keep in mind

Include employee time and other relevant costs, and explain how benefits were attributed to learning. An uncertain benefit estimate should not be presented as a precise, proven financial return.
