Exit Survey

An exit survey gathers standardised feedback from departing employees about their reasons for leaving and workplace experience. It can complement a more detailed exit interview.

Example

Departing employees receive questions about management, workload and career opportunities, with optional comments and an explanation of how responses will be used.

What to keep in mind

Response patterns may not represent all leavers. Protect confidentiality, report sufficiently aggregated results and avoid treating a selected reason on a survey as a complete explanation of a departure.
