Code of Conduct

A code of conduct sets out expected behaviours and standards for people working with an organisation. It may address conflicts of interest, respectful behaviour, confidentiality and use of resources.

Example

A policy requires employees to disclose a potential supplier conflict and explains where to seek advice before participating in the purchasing decision.

What to keep in mind

A code should provide practical guidance, not just broad values. Explain how concerns are reported and how breaches are assessed, and ensure expectations are communicated to relevant workers.
