Talent Acquisition

Talent acquisition is the coordinated work of finding and securing people with the capabilities an organisation needs. It can include longer-term sourcing, employer communication and candidate relationships alongside filling vacancies.

Example

A hospital builds relationships with training institutions and maintains a pool of potential applicants for specialist roles that are repeatedly difficult to fill.

What to keep in mind

The term overlaps with recruitment but often has a longer planning horizon. Evaluate hires and candidate experience, not just the size of a database or number of contacts made.
