Position Management

Position management tracks approved organisational positions separately from the people who occupy them. A position can remain in the structure when vacant or temporarily filled.

Example

An employee leaves, but their approved position remains open with a defined department, budget and reporting line until it is filled or removed.

What to keep in mind

Distinguish positions, employees and full-time-equivalent capacity. One position may be job-shared, and one person may hold multiple assignments, so the counts are not always interchangeable.
