Performance Management

Performance management is the ongoing process of agreeing expectations, supporting delivery, reviewing progress and addressing gaps. It connects individual and team work with organisational priorities.

Example

A manager agrees quarterly outcomes, checks progress regularly, removes obstacles and gives timely feedback before completing a formal review.

What to keep in mind

Performance management is broader than an annual rating. Expectations should reflect the role and available resources, and employees need a fair opportunity to understand concerns and improve where necessary.
