Outplacement

Outplacement is employer-supported assistance for people leaving an organisation to find new work or plan their next step. It can include career advice, CV support and interview preparation.

Example

An employer reducing roles offers departing staff access to a career adviser and practical help identifying suitable job-search options.

What to keep in mind

Outplacement does not guarantee a new job and does not replace notice, severance or other legal obligations. Explain the service's scope, duration and confidentiality before employees decide whether to use it.
