Millennial Workforce

Millennial workforce refers to employees grouped into the demographic cohort often called millennials or Generation Y. The label is used in workforce commentary, with birth-year boundaries that differ between sources.

Example

An employer reviewing its age profile notes a large mid-career population and asks employees directly about progression, caring responsibilities and development needs.

What to keep in mind

The cohort label does not predict an individual's values, loyalty or working style. Prefer actual workforce evidence over claims that all members of a generation share the same employment preferences.
