Headcount Report

A headcount report shows the number of people in a defined workforce at a point in time or over a reporting period. It may break totals down by team, location or employment category.

Example

An employer reports 120 employees at month-end and separately shows agency workers and vacant approved positions.

What to keep in mind

State who is included and the date of the count. Headcount differs from full-time equivalents and positions, and historical comparisons can be misleading if inclusion rules change.
