Green HRM

Green human resource management, or green HRM, uses HR practices to support an organisation's environmental aims. It can involve relevant learning, work design and incentives for responsible resource use.

Example

An employer trains facilities staff to operate energy-saving equipment correctly and includes specific, verifiable environmental responsibilities in relevant roles.

What to keep in mind

HR initiatives should connect with actual operating changes. Paperless forms or awareness campaigns alone do not establish a meaningful environmental improvement, and claimed results need suitable evidence.
