Flexitime

Flexitime lets employees vary start and finish times within agreed limits while meeting required hours and availability. Arrangements may include core hours or rules for carrying time balances.

Example

An employee starts between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and adjusts the finishing time while remaining available during the team's agreed core period.

What to keep in mind

Flexitime does not automatically permit fewer hours or unlimited time banking. Record the rules clearly and check working-time requirements, workload and how the arrangement affects colleagues and service coverage.
