Flexible Benefits

Flexible benefits let employees choose among benefit options within an employer's rules or budget. The approach recognises that employees may value different forms of support.

Example

An employee selects a level of health coverage and other permitted benefits through an annual enrolment process within the plan's allowance.

What to keep in mind

Explain choice deadlines, costs and consequences of changing cover. Flexibility does not make every option tax-free or suitable for everyone, and mandatory benefits cannot simply be traded away where law prohibits it.
