Benefits Package

A benefits package is the set of employment benefits offered alongside direct pay. It may combine mandatory provisions with employer-selected insurance, retirement, leave or support arrangements.

Example

An offer includes health insurance, an employer retirement contribution and paid leave, with separate eligibility and coverage terms for each benefit.

What to keep in mind

Compare the actual terms rather than the number of benefits listed. Limits, exclusions, waiting periods and employee contributions can materially change the usefulness and cost of the package.
