Contract Staffing

Contract staffing supplies people for work under a specified contract or engagement, often through a staffing provider. The term can refer to several arrangements, so responsibilities must be made explicit.

Example

A provider supplies a payroll specialist for six months while the client replaces its payroll system and agrees who manages daily work.

What to keep in mind

Confirm who employs or engages the worker and who handles pay, leave, supervision and complaints. Contract duration by itself does not establish independent-contractor status or remove employment protections.
