Workforce Right Sizing

Workforce right sizing adjusts staffing numbers, skills or deployment to fit expected work. It can involve growth, reductions, redeployment or redesign rather than only job cuts.

Example

A business reduces duplicate administrative roles while adding technical capacity where demand has increased, using a documented workforce plan.

What to keep in mind

The phrase can obscure significant effects on employees. Explain the actual changes and rationale, evaluate alternatives and follow applicable consultation, selection and termination requirements.
