Pay Transparency

Pay transparency is the extent to which information about pay ranges, criteria and decisions is shared. It can range from explaining salary bands to disclosures required by law.

Example

An employer publishes the range for a vacancy and explains the factors used to place a new hire within that range.

What to keep in mind

Transparency does not necessarily mean publishing every individual's salary. Follow applicable requirements, protect personal information and ensure disclosed ranges reflect realistic pay decisions rather than misleadingly broad possibilities.
