Mental Health at Work

Mental health at work concerns how working conditions affect psychological wellbeing and how employers support people experiencing mental health difficulties. It includes prevention, adjustments and access to appropriate support.

Example

An employee discusses a temporary adjustment to workload and appointment times with a manager, sharing only the information needed to arrange support.

What to keep in mind

Managers should listen and arrange practical help within their role, not diagnose or provide therapy. Handle health information confidentially and follow applicable requirements on disability, accommodation and workplace safety.
