Internal Job Posting (IJP)

An internal job posting, or IJP, advertises a vacancy to existing employees. It supports visibility of opportunities and provides a process for expressing interest or applying.

Example

An employer posts a team-lead vacancy internally with selection criteria, a closing date and information about whether manager notification is required.

What to keep in mind

Define eligibility and release arrangements fairly. Internal applicants still need a relevant assessment, and employees should not be discouraged or disadvantaged simply for exploring development opportunities.
