HR Audit

An HR audit is a structured review of employment records, policies and practices against defined requirements. Its scope may cover compliance, record accuracy, process controls or how consistently policies are applied.

An audit compares a sample of signed contracts with payroll records and checks whether overtime approvals and leave balances have supporting documentation.

What to keep in mind

State the audit's scope and sample size. Finding no issue in ten files does not establish compliance across an entire workforce, and an internal audit is not a legal certification.
