Employee Value Proposition

An employee value proposition, or EVP, is the combination of rewards and experiences employees can expect from working for an organisation. It should reflect the employment relationship beyond salary alone.

Example

An employer's EVP includes paid learning time, transparent pay bands and flexibility in start times, with written details explaining eligibility and limits.

What to keep in mind

An EVP is an overall proposition, not a substitute for contractual terms. Avoid promises that managers cannot deliver consistently and check whether different workforce groups experience the offer differently.
