Employee Advocacy

Employee advocacy is support or positive communication about an organisation expressed by its employees. It can occur through recommendations, professional networks or participation in employer activities.

Example

An employee voluntarily shares a vacancy with their professional network because they think the role and workplace may suit people they know.

What to keep in mind

Advocacy should be voluntary and honest. Do not pressure employees to post praise, disclose confidential information or imply that personal social accounts are an extension of their job responsibilities.
