Conditional Offer

A conditional offer is a job offer that depends on stated requirements being satisfied. Conditions may include lawful checks, required qualifications or work authorisation.

Example

An employer offers a role subject to verification of the qualification essential for the job and explains the condition and next steps in writing.

What to keep in mind

Conditions should be clear, relevant and lawful. An accepted offer can have legal consequences, so do not assume the word conditional permits withdrawal for any reason or after every change of preference.
