Candidate Screening

Candidate screening checks whether applicants meet the basic requirements and practical conditions for a role. It may use applications, brief calls, eligibility questions or initial assessments.

Example

A screening call confirms a candidate's required qualification, interest in the work and ability to meet the stated shift arrangement before arranging interviews.

What to keep in mind

Ask only questions relevant and lawful for the hiring decision. Apply consistent criteria and do not confuse an early screening conversation with a complete assessment of job performance.
